@ “A Christmas Carol” at Sedona Heritage Museum In this specially adapted version of the Charles Dickens holiday classic, professional storyteller Michael Peach gives voice to more than twenty characters who take part in rekindling the stifled spirit of humanity in Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge encounters four spirits who guide him through scenes that demonstrate the materialistic corruption of the soul and illustrate the redemptive power of love, family, and community. Since its original publication in 1843, this Christmas ghost story has thrilled and delighted listeners with its themes of miserly isolation, social inequality, and the rebirth of consciousness and compassion. Mike will also perform his original poem, The Man Who Killed Santa Claus, which tells the true (but comically exaggerated) story of a 1932 Christmas promotional event that went awry. (Don’t let the title fool you, it’s very funny.) Longtime Verde Valley residents are familiar with Mike’s numerous appearances in theatrical productions and his many programs here at the museum.
