About this event
One of 411 upcoming events at See Plymouth.
Weighing barely two ounces, the Piping Plover has one of the most remarkable and precarious life stories on the Atlantic Coast. On this guided beach walk, discover what makes this small shorebird such a conservation priority: its migration, breeding behavior, nesting habitat needs, and the very real pressures of predators, human disturbance, and habitat loss that make every successful chick a small victory. Duxbury Beach is an important nesting sites for Piping Plovers in Massachusetts, making it an ideal place to learn about their fascinating story and observe them in their natural habitat. Mass Audubon is grateful for the generosity of the Duxbury Beach Reservation Inc. for funding this program and for their service and dedication to protecting the critical resource we know as Duxbury Beach.
