Seaweed Walk at Duxbury Beach

Seaweed is easy to overlook, but did you know there are at least 20 different species of plants and algae that thrive on Duxbury Beach? On this guided beach walk, see how many species we can identify. Along the way, learn where each species grows; how tides, sunlight, and substrate shape what’s found where; and how these often-ignored organisms provide food, shelter, and habitat structure for countless species throughout the coastal ecosystem.
