About this event
One of 411 upcoming events at See Plymouth.
Duxbury Beach is one of the most important shorebird habitats on the Massachusetts coast. It hosts nesting Piping Plovers and a summer colony site for Least, Common, Arctic, and Roseate terns, among others. On this guided walk, explore the shoreline, dunes, and tidal zones where shorebirds feed and nest, learning about migration routes, breeding strategies, and the significant pressures these species face on a heavily visited barrier beach. Discover what real-time conservation looks like, why stewardship actions matter, and how each visitor’s choices directly affect the birds sharing this stretch of sand. Mass Audubon is grateful for the generosity of the Duxbury Beach Reservation Inc. for funding this program and for their service and dedication to protecting the critical resource we know as Duxbury Beach.
