Patrick Henry will reenact his famous ‘Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death’ speech of March 23, 1775 on the front steps of historic Ker Place on Friday October 9th at 5:30 pm. Bring your lawn chair or gather around to hear these words that remains a defining call for freedom and personal courage in our 250th year of independence. Following, we invite you into Ker Place for a Reception to meet Mr. Henry and view Give Me Liberty: Virginia & The Forging of a Nation . An exhibit on loan from The Virginia Museum of History and Culture. This exhibit will explore the unique and essential Virginia people, events, and sites that helped bring liberty and democracy to a nation. Commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, this exhibit will highlight the complex, diverse, and inspiring Virginia history which is, in fact, America’s story. Also on exhibit, Faces of the Revolution. This exhibit explores iconic portraits of America’s Founding Fathers and Mothers alongside notable figures from the Eastern Shore.
