High Priestess of the Blues, Jacquie ‘Lady J.’ Maddix, recipient of the AMPERS 2026 Jo McMullen Boyer Radio Broadcaster of the Year Award, performs songs of the soul! Lady J. is a 30 year veteran radio and television producer and author who has explored the roots of the blues on stage and in performance. She was inducted into the 2015 Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame, Jacquie Maddix and her band “Lady J Griot & Her Root Doctors” work Root Wisdom from the Elders Circle. On her KFAI radio show, Songs of the Soul (formerly Rollin & Tumblin), Lady J keeps the heritage alive, weaving history, ancestral magic, and the spiritual roots of the Blues into a rich tapestry of songs, interviews, and live in-studio performances.
