Union Avenue

Founded in August of 2021, Union Avenue has brought gritty rockabilly, jump blues and old-style country music to audiences across the Midwest. The recipe of astounding vocals supported by vintage electric guitar, upright “slap style” bass, and rock-inspired drums has been an instant success at venues and festivals alike. The energy and vibrance of the early 1950’s birth of rockabilly is showcased as is rowdy jump blues in lively shows that include rare, unissued songs from the “Sun Records” era as well as new interpretations of more recent cuts, not only from the United States, but also from impressive artists from around the world. Christopher Myers fronts the band in 1950’s era clothing which brings an authentic visual element to the stage, while his incredible vocals sonically capture the audience. Supported by hypnotizing slap bass rhythms by Steve Knecht and driven by the powerful drumbeats of Francis Lucente, song after song draws the audience in, wondering what will happen next.
