Making Concrete Forms for Mosaic

This 3-day intensive workshop will focus entirely on the popular technique of creating light weight, weather resistant, 3-dimensional, mosaic-ready forms out of Styrofoam (polystyrene), fiber mesh and concrete. You Will Learn: Basic sculpting techniques, including profile carving. How to use Hot Wire foam carving tools. How to base & anchor your sculpture. How to mix and apply a durable concrete system. You will leave with a mosaic-ready sculpture along with informative handouts that will enable you to pursue your mosaic sculpture goals. Note: NO MOSAIC WILL BE APPLIED at this workshop. However, you can choose to register for a mosaic workshop at Passiflora Studio or for the 4-day mosaic retreat at Camp Ocean Pines to finish your project.
