Wolf Run

Wolf Run The beginnings of Wolf Run germinated in 2010 when Adam Traum and Jack Hines met at an open mic in Sonoma, California. The two started chatting, and got together shortly after that to jam on a rainy winter afternoon in a cabin in Glen Ellen. Traum got home and told his wife, “I think I found my bassist!” As they began playing local gigs, and later traveling to out-of-town shows, their bond grew and cemented their friendship. The duo needed a name and liked the idea of “Wolf Run,” a neighborhood near Hines’ house, not far from Jack London State Park. The mostly original music they play makes it difficult to put Wolf Run in a box. They fluidly move between songs in a wide range of genres that include Americana, blues, folk, country and rock while still sounding cohesive. Adam Traum is a prolific songwriter, often enlisting the help of Hines to bring a song home. Hines brings some terrific songs to the band as well. Feeling the need to expand their sound, Traum and Hines enlisted the help of veteran drummer Kendrick Freeman, whose groove helps propel their rootsy sound forward. The band plays songs ranging from acoustic singer-songwriter feels, to funky grooves, and full-tilt rock and roll.
