Free Show Friday: deadbeatdad (electropop)

deadbeatdad is an independent electronic producer, performer & DJ based in Detroit, Michigan. Exploring themes of identity and connection through genre-bending production and poetic lyricism, deadbeatdad draws inspiration from 80’s synthpop, y2k dance music, and indie rock. Expect to add deadbeatdad to playlists with artists like MUNA, Phantogram, and Sam Gellaitry. The artist behind deadbeatdad, KJ Morehouse, was born in West Michigan and grew up in multiple conservative small towns in the area. Proud of their trans identity, KJ is motivated by becoming the representation they never had as a kid while helping build and uplift their community. Music at 9pm // 21+ // No cover
