How the Past Can Help Us Garden for the Future is an engaging look at what historic gardens can teach us about creating productive, resilient, and environmentally responsible gardens today. Drawing on her work in historic gardens and horticultural education, Diana Kimball-Anderson connects traditional practices—including composting, interplanting, seed saving, and preserving the harvest—with challenges gardeners now face, such as unpredictable rainfall, drought, changing seasons, and declining pollinator populations.
