The Bronx: The Way It Was ONLINE-For the past 15 years, Back in the Bronx President Stephen Samtur has traveled around the country sharing his 75-minute presentation, The Bronx: The Way It Was. People from places like California, Florida, Arizona, and the Tri-State area come to learn about and remember the Bronx. The program features more than 450 vintage photos, video clips from the 1940s through the 1960s, and interviews with famous people from the Bronx. It covers many interesting places, including Yankee Stadium, Orchard Beach, Freedomland USA, the Grand Concourse, movie theaters, parks, restaurants, and shopping areas. The presentation gives people a chance to see what life in the Bronx was like in the past and learn about its history. This magazine is a retrospective of The Bronx in the 1940s-1960s. Since the start of the magazine, I've had close to 30,000 subscribers, as well as a Bronx database of over 125,000 former Bronxites. I've also written three books, produced several DVDs, and developed a Bronx Board game and a Back In THE BRONX chess set. For the past 6 years, Steve has been giving his 90-minute PowerPoint presentation, The Bronx: The Way It Was, locally and throughout the country (CA, FL, AZ, etc.). My crowds are large and enthusiastic. Over 400 attended in Fairfax, VA and Rockville, MD respectively! What makes audiences come out in droves is reliving their childhood in their favorite borough. Steve brings over 450 wonderful vintage Bronx slides, video clips of The Bronx during the decades of the 40s-60s, and dozens of Bronx celebrity interviews.
