Compositions: A Memoir in 42 Essays by 1 Kid on Her 8 Years in Catholic School, Handed in 60 Years Late

Join Western Mass. Author Suzanne Strempek Shea for a talk on her latest book, Compositions, a memoir in essays on her eight years at the former Saints Peter and Paul School in Three Rivers. Written with poignancy and humor in the voice of the child she was then, it tells of life in that heavily Polish-American community, where each day revolved around home, church and school, and under her immigrant grandparents’ wishes that life in the new country be better than what they left. This will be Suzanne’s twelfth book, and she has set four novels, sections of three memoir, and many essays in her home community. Compositions gives insight into who both the author, and the main character in her best-selling first novel, Selling the Lite of Heaven were as children. Suzanne will read, answer questions, sign books and lead any Polish-American audience members in least one Polish song!
