Polish folk art is immediately recognizable, with its intricate patterns and use of ordinary, everyday objects to create stunning works of art. From wycinanki paper cuttings to ozdoby jajeczne egg decorations and pajaki hanging creations, traditional crafts are closely associated with the holidays, and none more so than Christmas. In this lecture, join Susan Urban, a local artist who specializes in Polish folklore and traditions, as she traces the design, history, and meaning of Polish Christmas crafts from their 18th century origins to their present-day uses, and maybe find inspiration for your own holiday decorations. Presented by Susan Urban, artist and presenter Join us in-person or online! If you plan to attend in person at the Museums, tickets are available on the day of the lecture in the Welcome Center.
