Mah Jongg 101

Mahjong 101 is a brand-new beginner class designed to introduce you to the exciting world of American Mah Jongg! Have you been hearing all the buzz about Mah Jongg? Curious what makes this timeless game so addictive? Whether you're looking to learn a new skill, meet new people, or simply enjoy a fun weekly outing, this lively four-week course is the perfect place to start. In this hands-on class, you'll learn everything you need to confidently sit down at a Mah Jongg table. We'll cover the fundamentals of American Mah Jongg, including: Getting to know the tiles and their suits How to set up, deal, and begin each game Reading the National Mah Jongg League playing card Building winning hands and recognizing strong combinations Tips to help you play with confidence Each session includes step-by-step instruction, plenty of practice with real tiles, and a welcoming, encouraging atmosphere where questions are always welcome. No prior experience is necessary—all materials will be provided during class. This four-week class meets Wednesdays from September 30 to October 21 and has a registration fee of $170.
