Star Party: Perseids Meteor Shower

Join us for our inaugural Star Party at the SM&NC’s new Planetarium & Astronomy Center! Timed to coincide with the peak of the annual Perseids meteor shower, the evening begins with a presentation in the Planetarium exploring the science behind meteor showers and what makes the Perseids one of the year’s most anticipated sky viewing events. Following the presentation, guests will head outdoors for telescope observing and meteor watching(weather permitting). Visitors are encouraged to bring their own telescopes, and SM&NC staff will have telescopes available for shared viewing. Whether you’re an experienced stargazer or simply curious about the night sky, this event offers an opportunity to experience one of nature’s most spectacular celestial displays.
