From Stockton Chorale

The Stockton Chorale opens its landmark 75th Anniversary “Diamond Season” with 75 Years of Inspiring Joy, a retrospective concert celebrating seven and a half decades of choral music in Stockton, CA. The program looks back across the decades with works performed throughout the Chorale’s history, brought to life by returning past Artistic Directors and alumni singers alongside today’s full Chorale family, the Master Chorale, Valley Youth A Cappella, and Stockton Youth Chorale. The roots of the Stockton Chorale have given a strong base to the many branches that have spread over the years, while always allowing the light of inspiration to shine through. Several past Artistic Directors, including Mike Hernandez, Bruce Southard, Daniel Hughes, Curtis Mannah, and Art Holton Jr. (representing founder Art Holton Sr.), return to conduct treasured repertoire from their own years leading the ensemble. Expect a program rich with American choral classics and spirituals, including works by William Dawson, Harry Burleigh, Randall Thompson, Moses Hogan, Stephen Paulus, and Alice Parker, alongside a movement of Mozart’s Ave verum corpus. Join us for this milestone celebration of Stockton choral music as we kick off a season honoring 75 years of community, artistry, and joy. Featuring: Stockton Chorale, Master Chorale, Valley Youth A Cappella, Stockton Youth Chorale, returning Artistic Directors Emeriti, and alumni singers Purchase Tickets
