Stormwater Studios: Resident Artists’ Semi-Annual Exhibition

Celebrate the holiday season at Stormwater Studios, where the Resident Artists’ Semi-Annual Exhibition will be on view Wednesday, November 18, through Sunday, November 29, 2026. Please join the artists for the opening reception on Thursday, November 19, as part of Vista Lights’ 41st Anniversary. This special exhibition showcases the diverse work of Stormwater’s resident artists, spanning painting, sculpture, assemblage, ceramics, photography, and design. Painters David Yaghjian, Gerard Erley, and Michel McNinch bring decades of experience to their work. Yaghjian makes oil paintings along with playful painted wood and cardboard figure sculptures. McNinch is known for portraits and landscapes in a realistic, interpretive style, and Erley is an award-winning portrait and plein air painter. Stephen Chesley is known for paintings in a style often described as poetic realism. Eileen Blyth works in painting and in sculpture made from found objects. Kirkland Smith turns everyday disposable materials into contemporary assemblages. Pat Gilmartin is known for her ceramic sculptures but also creates experimental cyanotypes. Heidi Darr-Hope’s intuitive work draws on travel, dreams, and spiritual traditions from around the world. Quincy Pugh’s work celebrates his community through photography and abstract expressionism. New this year is Davar Hart, the 2026–2027 Stormwater Residency Program Resident Artist. Davar is a multidisciplinary artist who explores how art and fashion shape identity and storytelling. The opening reception is the perfect opportunity to meet the artists, explore their studios, and discover original artwork in a variety of mediums. Guests can get an inside look at where the work is made, talk with the artists about their process, and see why Stormwater Studios is such an important part of Columbia’s arts community. The exhibition and reception is free and open to the public.
