About this event
One of 184 upcoming events at Sullenberger Aviation Museum, and 1,290 across Charlotte.
This unique, hour-long program places you in the shoes of a 1950s airline passenger, an era when cabins were unpressurized, travelers dressed in their Sunday best, and hot meals were served on ceramic dishware. As part of the experience, guests step inside the DC-3’s passenger cabin and interact with reproductions of period-specific airline artifacts. Discover how the DC-3 went from playing a pivotal role during World War II to revolutionizing commercial travel by making it reliable, profitable, and widespread for the first time in history. Participants will also explore the rich legacy of Piedmont Airlines, a cornerstone of North Carolina’s aviation heritage.
