Part of the Middlebury New Filmmaker’s series “MNFF Selects” A vital and affecting story about the career of deaf actor Marlee Matlin, who broke through with her astonishing work in the 1986 feature “Children of a Lesser God,” winning the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role at age 21. Directed by Shoshannah Stern, who is also deaf, the film displays the genuine chemistry between the two women as they explore the ups and downs of Ms. Matlin’s life. Q&A will be announced.
