Help honest Abe find his way through the great experiment towards a more perfect union… on the way to Hollywood! Starring David Ledingham and Lyon Hamill. This new Hit Comedy was commissioned for AFF’s JuneFest 2025 and, following RAVE REVIEWS, transferred to Thunder River Theatre Company in Carbondale for an acclaimed encore weekend in July 2025. AFF’s 1st commissioned play, ANGRY ALAN, has since been produced in India, London, Paris, and Off Broadway, and won the coveted Fringe 1st Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was optioned by NBC/Universal for a TV Series, and was nominated for BEST NEW PLAY by the NY OUTER CIRCLE CRITICS AWARDS, starring award winning actor John Krasinski and directed by Tony Award winning director, Sam Gold. THE CAST DAVID LEDINGHAM David Ledingham was nominated for BEST ACTOR (Henry Awards) for his performance of HAMM in Endgame by Samuel Beckett in 2024. He is the founder and Artistic Director of the Aspen Fringe Festival since 2009. He wrote and performed Lincoln Goes to Hollywood at AFF’s Junefest at the Wheeler Opera House in 2025, followed by 4 encore performances at TRTC. REGIONAL: Josiah Bartlet in 1776 at American Conservatory Theatre, Daniel Cavanaugh in Chinglish at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Jack in The Weir, Oscar in The Odd Couple, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, The Guardsman in Enter the Guardsman and Ivor Fish in Rough Crossing at Jewel Theatre. Regional Theatre: Sir Robert in An Ideal Husband and Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights at Paper Mill Playhouse, Overtime at The Old Globe Theatre, Sergius in Arms and the Man at Asolo Theatre, The Guardsman in Enter the Guardsman at San Jose Repertory Theatre, Lumberjacks in Love at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Laertes in Hamlet at Merrimack Repertory Theatre, and Victor Fleming in Moonlight & Magnolias, George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life, Klinglehoff in The Underpants, Tito Merelli in Lend Me A Tenor, Duke Orsino in Twelfth Night, Harry Chapin in Lies & Legends & Joe Foster in Becky’s New Car all at Theatre Aspen. FILM/TV: David starred in the film Final Judgement, the 2024 film The Long Step, was a series regular on ABC’s One Life to Live, and Guest Stared on Law & Order, etc. He co-wrote and directed the play The Song that killed the Snake, with a 16 piece chamber orchestra for the LA Philharmonic and directed the Film Hitler, Stalin and Walter O’Malley, and many other projects. He holds a BFA & MFA in Acting. LYON HAMILL Lyon Hamill is an NYC based actor who has strong ties to the valley. He works as an actor and musician and is the proud drummer for the Latin rock band, NEVERHOME. His professional theater credits include his self-produced show Do You Feel Anger? (as Howie), Love’s Labour’s Lost (as Berowne), and Enter the Guardsman (as ASM). His film/TV credits include “An Aspen Christmas Conspiracy” (as Justin Carmichael), “Is This Thing On?” (as Bartender), Saturday Night Live (as Folk Drummer), Carry the Darkness (as Brock), and The Better Part (as Cal). SMU BFA: Machinal (George H. Jones), Redwood (as Drew Tatum), Sense and Sensibility (John Dashwood), and Spring Awakening (as Ulbrect). Lyon is grateful to perform in the valley again and looks forward to sharing this story with you all!
