Speaker’s name: Dyane Janney Speaker’s webpage: Dyane’s Bio from Scottsdale Artist League Bio: It began with retirement, and a class in stained glass, I loved it but it was very time cosuming to create a window or lampshade so I switched to glass fusing! I made dishware, and with leftover glass I made cabashons and learned how to wire wrap and made jewelry. I disliked the appearance of the backs of my pendants and looked for something to cover the backs to make them reversible…enter the fine art of Repujado, or hand embossing , using pewter, copper and brass. I then began a business called Forever Memory Boxes, making cremain boxes for pets and humans. Or celebratory boxes for wedding, anniversaries, birthdays, retirement any occasion and primarily commissions. I now incorporate my Repujado with many other mediums such as clay, and beading. My art partner and I create Art for Charity. So, as we age we collect treasures, A wedding hanky , babies rattle, a pen knife, school ring ,these are all things that can be saved in a Forever Memory Box. Being a very nostalgic person, I love to create a place for memories , and I use my artistic abilities to create book boxes, frames, vases almost anything, for any occasion,using the fine art of Repujado. This is hand embossing on metal, using brass, copper and pewter to embellish each piece. I love commissions and the challenge my clients give me to create Personalized Art for any occasion or celebration.
