Commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Athens at the 6th Annual Battle of Athens Festival on Saturday, August 1, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Market Park in Athens, Tennessee. The festival will explore the history and significance of the 1946 Battle of Athens through artifacts and memorabilia, pop-up museum displays, a historical photo slideshow, and a question-and-answer session with historians. Visitors can also enjoy food trucks, historical vendors, commemorative T-shirts, and door prizes. Three guided downtown walking tours will be offered at 9:00 a.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m., with the final tour scheduled as a sunset tour.
