About this event
One of 11 upcoming events at Tennessee Performing Arts Center, and 1,073 across Nashville.
3622 Redmon Street Nashville, Tennessee 37209 Fortuna the Time Bender vs. The Schoolgirls of Doom is a vibrant, campy blend of musical styles, drawing from opera, Broadway, Hollywood, Gilbert & Sullivan, and touches of 1980s flair. When the villainous “Headmaster” threatens the city with his trio of musical minions, it’s up to the time-bending Fortuna and her nerdy apprentice to save the day. With an eclectic orchestration and a “Scott Pilgrim” visual energy, this production is a high-octane comedy that proves opera can be as fun as your favorite graphic novel.* Join us for a lunchtime InsideOut discussion featuring cast and creative team members from Nashville Opera, including director John Hoomes. Hear directly from the artists bringing this colorful production to life and get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, from staging and performance to the unique musical and visual world of Fortuna. TPAC’s InsideOut series takes audiences beyond the performance, creating opportunities to hear from the artists, creators, and professionals who make live theatre possible. These conversations offer a closer look at how productions move from the page to the stage and the many creative choices made along the way. This is a TPAC InsideOut event and is not a full performance. Presenting guest lineups are subject to change. A free box lunch will be served to all registrants. This is a non-ticketed general admission reservation event. Tickets will not be available at Will Call. All patrons will Check-In at the event. Fortuna the Time Bender vs. The Schoolgirls of Doom is recommended for all ages and is most suited for ages 10+.
