About this event
One of 4 upcoming events at Terrain Gallery, and 169 across Spokane.
Museum and gallery directors, nonprofit arts organization founders, art teachers, and other local arts advocates have made a life of showcasing the art of others, while their own work is rarely seen. This exhibition challenges its participants to make new work, providing space to honor the creative talents that led them to these careers. It also highlights the breadth of our regional arts ecosystem, offering a chance to meet and connect with the stewards of our growing arts community. Prepare to experience a range of works in clay, mixed media sculpture, painting, printmaking, photography and more. Each participant's work is united in the theme that they don't make art to make a living, yet they are immersed in art and with artists every day, which is a unique perspective. Critical Infrastructure curated by Carrie Scozzaro, includes the work of Ali Blackwood (Inlander), Ali Shute (Coeur d’Alene Arts & Culture Alliance - retired), Ann Saberi (Jordan Schnitzer Museum WSU), Brooke Shelman Wagner (Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture), Chelsea Cordova (Front Room Gallery), Eva Silverstone (The Hive / Spokane Public Libraries), Jeni Riplinger (founder of Emerge), Jennifer LaRue (manager/curator at Kolva-Sullivan Gallery), John Fullmer (Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture), Katie Patterson Larson (Art Salvage), Kelly Baker (KB Consulting; Front Room Gallery), Kelsey Cook (Spokane International Academy), Kristin Carlson (Becker) (Jordan Schnitzer Museum WSU), Megan Cherry (Moscow Public Arts), and Rob Worstell (Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture), Shawn Gunnier (Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture).
