Performances in the Park: The Ruth & Ben String Band August 9 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm Join us for Performances in the Park! The Ruth & Ben String Band play traditional, modern, and original songs in the Old Appalachian style. Bring a blanket, get takeout from your favorite local dining spot, and gather your people for a lively evening of music under the open sky. Performances in the Park is a free summer concert series presented by the City of Newton with six evenings of live music running from July 5 through August 9. Concerts are held in Newton Centre in the open park space adjacent to the playground, down the hill from the HUT (69 Tyler Terrace) and behind Mason-Rice School. Spark Newton is proud to be the 2026 Lead Guitar Sponsor for the City of Newton’s Department of Arts & Culture Performances in the Park, helping bring free, live music to Newton neighborhoods all summer long.
