Kody West grew up in Denton, Texas, listening to country legends like Johnny Cash. He picked up a guitar at nine years old and mostly taught himself to play. His first gigs weren’t fancy. He played taco shops and any bar with a patio that would give him a couple of hours. Then he did something smart. He took a job as tour manager for Texas artist Dalton Domino. He learned the music business from the inside — booking shows, loading gear, and watching how it’s done. Soon he was opening the shows himself. In 2016, he released his first EP, Higher Ground, and fans took notice fast. His 2017 debut album, Green, put him on the map alongside Texas country names like Koe Wetzel and Flatland Cavalry.
