LISTEN ABOUT THIS SHOW Join us as we celebrate two new musical releases, an album by Saint Paul-based Americana artist Emmy Woods and a new single by Emmy, Dakotah Faye, and LowJam. The three collaborating artists will be joined by local Americana songwriter, Laura Hugo, for a night of heartfelt performances at the Cedar Cultural Center on January 10 in Minneapolis, MN, celebrating both the new album and the single. Raised and living in Saint Paul, the singer/songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist slays demons and drinks their blood. Shifting between earth shattering magnitude and feathered lightness, each track feels like a voice from a parallel world, shouting from a distance, demanding your attention, enveloping you in a world of sound so encompassing you can’t help but let it consume you. With a love for artists like Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Phoebe Bridgers, Bjork, and Jon Hopkins, Lowjam strives to evoke the same sense of sonic bliss; waves of audio washing over you, drowning you, lifting your body back to the surface to be brought under once again. Now with his debut EP under his belt, Lowjam continues to experiment, hoping that one day he may make a song that will actually explode someone’s head. In all honesty, the only hope he has is that somebody out there in the world can listen to a song of his and because of it, feel so deeply that somehow things make more sense than they did before.
