November 08, 2026 @ 2:00 PM - November 08, 2026 @ 3:00 PM Mattituck Laurel Library 13900 Main Rd., Mattituck, NY 11952, US Mattituck, NY US Mattituck-Laurel Library , https://wendiwengdance.com The Silk Road stands as a monumental artery of trade in human history, bridging the vast continents of Asia and Europe. It facilitated the circulation of goods among more than 40 countries, promoting exchanges in culture, religion, art and science. As one of the most treasured legacies of human civilization, it embodies the spirit of cultural pluralism – a worldview that continues to inspire and resonate deeply in the discourse of our century. This project aims to provide the audience with a basic introduction to the Silk Road. By introducing, showcasing and playing percussion instruments traded along the Silk Road, as well as performing dances widely popularized through cultural exchanges along the route, the project highlights the representative cultures of four civilizations on the Silk Road: China, Persia, Türkiye and Egypt. It seeks to help the audience understand this history, spark their interest in it, and provide the community with a platform to explore world culture. Chris Howard – Percussionist
