Intro to Tablet Weaving

Learn how to weave beautiful historical tablet woven bands just like the Vikings did in this weekend workshop! Tablet weaving requires very little equipment, just cards instead of a loom, and no previous weaving experience is needed. Please bring the following materials to class: A belt or something to tie securely around your waist – One end of the weaving warp threads will be secured to this to regulate warp tension. Worsted or sport weight yarn in 2 to 3 colors, wound into balls or cakes – recommended: Plymouth Galway Recommended, but optional: tablet weaving cards (example: https://a.co/d/1BfnReb) Estimated maximum cost: $50 Visit our homepage at delaplaine.org or call 301-698-0656 x366 for information on weather related closings. If the building is closed, classes are canceled, and a make-up session will be scheduled.
