There’s the youthful spark of Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 1, written when he was just a teenager, alongside the gentle sunrise of Edvard Grieg’s Morning Mood and the simple, heartfelt beauty of Aaron Copland’s Shaker Melody. Then Jessie Montgomery’s Starburst brings a jolt of energy — fast, vibrant and full of life. At the center of it all, TFO cellist David Bender takes the spotlight in Max Bruch’s Kol Nidrei, a deeply expressive work that unfolds with quiet intensity.
