Then pianist Joyce Yang brings serious fire to Joan Tower’s Piano Concerto (Homage to Beethoven)— a piece that feels bold, restless and completely alive. Florent Schmitt’s Antoine et Cléopâtre adds a dose of drama and heat, setting the stage for the ultimate love story gone off the rails: Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet.
