Keltic Reign and The Laws Sisters

Over the last 25 years, the group has evolved from Mitzi MacDonald and friends, into a family band plus friends, with Mitzi’s three children playing alongside her. Keltic Reign’s music is a blend of Irish, Scottish, and East Coast Canadian music, along with Mitzi’s original songs. You can feel their connection, and they really love to connect with their audience, and have fun when they perform. Keltic Reign has performed at countless concerts and events, most notably The Whitaker Music Festival at Missouri Botanical Gardens, numerous shows at The Sheldon Concert Hall, Twilight Tuesday at the History Museum, and multiple appearances at First Night in Grand Center. Their annual show at the Sheldon Concert Hall, called Christmas in the Kitchen, has become a major charity fundraiser for children’s charities in the St. Louis community for over 20 years now. They have performed numerous times here at the Focal Point, and are a crowd favorite at the MO River Irish Festival and Scottish Games. They are excited to be back, and this year is made even better by daughters Holly and Ashby, opening the show! Get ready for a great night of music! Holly and Ashby Laws have been making music together since childhood, performing side-by-side from the moment they first picked up their instruments. As students of St. Louis Irish Arts, they had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of traditional Irish music from a young age. They especially love the ability to blend their favorite Irish standards with influence from their family ties to Cape Breton Island. Today, the sisters continue to perform around the St. Louis area in a variety of groups, including Mitzi MacDonald and Keltic Reign and No Soliciting. With Ashby based in St. Louis and Holly now living in Kansas City, opportunities to play together are especially meaningful, and they’re always excited when they can reunite to share music again.
