Program Notes Program details to come. Please check back. Clinton Webb With advanced degrees in both Horn and Tuba, Clinton Webb is an unusual and multi-faceted brass performer. After completing a Master’s in Tuba at Indiana University with the renowned pedagogue Daniel Perantoni, Clinton stepped away from music to thoughtfully consider his relationship to it, only to then be given the chance to begin anew on the horn with Myron Bloom, former principal of the Cleveland Orchestra, with whom he initially studied privately, eventually completing a Performer’s Diploma with him at Indiana University. After leaving Indiana, Clinton’s career took him all over the country. He was a full time private teacher in the Houston area, held the position of 2nd horn in the Tulsa Symphony, and freelanced in the Detroit area while holding position of 4th horn in the Flint Symphony, as well as principal in the Adrian Symphony and the Michigan Philharmonic. He has been privileged to study with many great mentors, including Elizabeth Freimuth, former principal horn of Cincinnati Symphony, Andrew Pelletier at Bowling Green State University, and Thomas Bacon, former principal horn of the Houston Symphony. In 2021, Clinton began attending The Juilliard School for a Master’s in Horn, where he studied with Jen Montone, principal horn of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Clinton joined the Spokane Symphony as Principal Horn in 2023, and was recently awarded the position of Principal Horn with the Britt Festival Orchestra, and feels blessed to work with such great ensembles in such a beautiful part of the country. Lowedown Thursday February 25 at noon, Music Director James Lowe gives you the “LoweDown” on the music.
