Exquisite Potential Exhibition – Opening Reception

Exquisite Potential: Surviving the 21st Century through Surreal Metamorphosis Casa Familiar is proud to announce the 19th annual Dia de la Mujer Exhibition, titled “Exquisite Potential: Surviving the 21st Century through Surreal Metamorphosis. The opening reception will take place on March 7th, 5-7pm, at The FRONT Gallery in San Ysidro, California. Exquisite Potential, draws inspiration from the Surrealist movement of the 1920s-30s, where artists and writers explored metamorphosis as a process of collective mythmaking in order to push back against oppression, which included the rise of European fascism and the effects of Western imperialism. This exhibition brings together a wide array of international and local artists over several events to elevate the works of BIPOC women and non-binary artists from both sides of the border. Potencial Exquisito: Sobreviviendo al siglo XXI a través de la Metamorfosis Surrealista Casa Familiar se enorgullece en anunciar la 19.ª Exposición Anual del Día de la Mujer, titulada “Potencial Exquisito: Sobreviviendo al siglo XXI a través de la Metamorfosis Surrealista”. La recepción inaugural tendrá lugar el 7 de marzo, de 17:00 a 19:00 h, en la Galería FRONT de San Ysidro, California. Potencial Exquisito se inspira en el movimiento surrealista de las décadas de 1920 y 1930, donde artistas y escritores exploraron la metamorfosis como un proceso de creación colectiva de mitos para contrarrestar la opresión, que incluyó el auge del fascismo europeo y los efectos del imperialismo occidental. Esta exposición reúne una amplia gama de artistas internacionales y artistas locales en varios eventos para elevar las obras de mujeres BIPOC y artistas no binarios de ambos lados de la frontera.
