W. Wright Mitchell is the author of “Georgia’s First Elected Governor: John Adam Treutlen and the American Revolution.” He is the President and CEO of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and a leading voice in the effort to preserve and interpret Georgia’s historic places. An Atlanta native, he has spent more than two decades advocating for the protection of historic resources across Atlanta and the State of Georgia. Mitchell began his career as a civil litigator and later founded the Buckhead Heritage Society, guiding the organization through a decade of significant preservation projects.
