Talk A Walk Through History! Tales of local personalities mixed with architectural heritage to sketch Hood River’s colorful history.  Includes one admission visit to the History Museum. Meeting Place & Time Meet at the Checkers Tables in the lobby of the Lightwell Hotel, corner of 2nd Street and Cascade Avenue (201 Cascade Avenue) Purchase tickets in advance $15/person; price includes admission to History Museum. Coffee and snacks available for purchase by 9:15am prior to start of tour. Hear about the history of Hood River as you walk the streets and view its historic buildings. Learn about the innovations made to ship local fruit (pears, apples, strawberries) to the east coast by rail in 1920s; find out how the city got its name and why street jugglers had to obtain a license.
