Celebrate The HIVE’s 5th anniversary and Z Specialty Food’s 47th during this FREE community event. Kick off your holiday shopping, taste 30+ varietal honeys, craft mead and enjoy selections from our farm-to-fork menu. This over the top celebration features live music from Wolf Jett, steep holiday discounts, giveaways and interactive activities for all ages including honey and mead tastings, honey bee education with live bees, tours of our pollinator garden and facility, a HIVE Spelling Bee and Waggle Dance Competition. In honor of 47 years of business and The HIVE’s 5th year, we’re offering a $20 Gift Card with each $100 retail purchase in the warehouse. LIVE MUSIC BY WOLF JETT Wolf Jett’s all-original songs infuse folk, soul and Americana into what they call “Cosmic Mountain Music.” Co-founded by two life-long friends and musical partners, Wolf Jett combines the southern-fried vocals and guitar of Tennessee-born frontman Chris Jones with Jon Payne’s endlessly groovy drums. Currently performing with Duncan Shipton (bass), Allyson Makuch (vocals), Rory Cloud (guitar), and Alex Benjamin (keys/percussion). The sound of Wolf Jett will make you dance, sing… and possibly even howl! VARIETAL HONEY TASTING │ 11am – 5pm Taste and learn about more than 30 varietal honeys, nut butters and honey fruit spreads all day long. Guided group tastings, facilitated by Queen Bee Amina Harris, will take place at 12:25pm and 2:40pm. POLLINATOR GARDEN TOUR Learn about pollinator friendly plants and gardening during this interactive tour of our certified Wildlife Habitat pollinator garden. The tour is led by Rowan Boswell, our certified Pollinator Steward and Garden Educator. HIVE FACILITY TOURS Join Nectar Director, Josh Zeldner, for a behind the scenes tour to learn about the process of producing honey from blossom to bottle. You’ll learn about what it means to be a zero-net energy facility and our company’s commitment to sustainability.
