Serva Pool Flux: “Color for Shade”

Local artist Samantha Buchanan will be hosting an artist reception for her pop-up, Color For Shade, in Serva Pool on Friday, August 21st, from 5 to 9 pm. This exhibition is a continuation of Buchanan’s project, […] To Be Invisible (spoken as “something to be invisible”), which she began at a residency at UNR’s Lake Tahoe campus. The project is a tribute to someone – or something – who kept the artist company throughout the residency. However, the artist doesn’t know this someone’s name, or, for that matter, if they even exist. However, given that so much of her work is about expanding sensory perception, it doesn’t seem that far-fetched for the artist to hang a show for a ghost. This exhibition is also part of the Holland Project Gallery’s Serva Pool Flux series, which presents projects by regional artists in a pop-up style format through the summer/fall. Learn more.
