Introduced in 2025, Serva Pool Flux (or SPF) is an annual exhibition series that presents new and experimental projects in a pop-up style format in the Holland Project’s Serva Pool space. Regional artists and curators are given access for just one week to install their exhibitions, open to the public, and load out. Pop-ups will occur between April and September in 2026 and were selected by a volunteer committee of staff, visual artists, and community members. Artistse encouraged to submit installation-based and interactive projects, and the upcoming series will represent a diverse array of approaches, including sound and video art, large-scale installation, soft sculpture, performance art, and more. HP Galleries is pleased to present Tension Sanctuary by Maria Samuelson in June, with a closing reception on June 27, 11am-2pm in conjunction with the closing reception of “Cross Reference” in the HP Gallery. Maria Samuelson’s work in textile installation and sculpture utilizes bra and lingerie-making materials, engaging themes of reclaiming and reimagining heretofore externally determined, corporatized, and generic standards of beauty, femininity, and shape that have been foisted on women and then presumed to be intimate and hidden. Samuelson’s project Tension Sanctuary explores personal associations, cultural impositions, and political implications that are held in tension; these networks are pulled, stretched, and stitched into one aesthetic presentation that points to womanhood, motherhood, and a tenuous architecture of experiences rather than human form.
