In 1913, The House of the Seven Gables presented a “Pageant of Salem” on the grounds of the Kernwood Estate. Featuring costumes, spectacle, and a cast of hundreds, the pageant highlighted episodes both real and legendary from Salem’s past. As we commemorate the city’s 400th anniversary, join us for a look back at the history of… well, looking back. Join Executive Director Dakota Russell as he discusses this fascinating event created by our founder, Caroline Emmerton. Free to all Gables Members and their guests.
