From The Icon Museum and Study Center
Free with admission The Winter Rose is a symbol of hope amidst adversity; it blooms in the cold darkness of winter. Its white petals are a nod to the immaculate conception, the grace of Mary, and the salvation promised by the prophets. Join Museum registrar, Laura Garrity-Arquitt, for an exploration of the story of Mary and Christmas as told through her icons. Special icons of the Mother of God and the Nativity will be brought out for this interactive exploration of the role Mary has in Christian faith and culture.
