If you have any questions please contact Cat Parrish at [email protected]. Meet Indigenous scholar and educator Judy Dow from Gedakina for a garden food sampling in the Children’s Farmyard. We will introduce you to a variety of our wonderful garden gifts, including herbal salts, syrups, and a savory snack made from garden plants. Come join us for a taste and good conversation! All ages welcome. Judy Dow is Wabanaki and French Canadian descent. She is Gedakina’s Executive Director and serves on its board. Judy is a lifelong learner and teacher. She has an education career spanning more than four decades. She worked primarily as an independent educator, with degrees in Native Studies, Education and a Master's in Teaching for Social Justice. Judy is also an environmentalist, consultant, cultural specialist, author and basketmaker conducting classes and workshops for students of all ages. She was the 2004 recipient of the Governor’s Heritage Award for Outstanding Educator and she received the 2022 Arthur Williams award for Meritorious Service to the Arts from the Vermont Arts Council.
