Co-founded by Steele and longtime collaborator David Cook, the project takes its inspiration from the Cocoanut Grove at the Ambassador Hotel on Wilshire Boulevard, a space known for celebrating live music of the era with sophistication and style. Steele, whose work spans jazz, soul, orchestral and contemporary music, leads an 18-piece ensemble made up of New York-based improvisers. Featuring arrangements by Alan Ferber, the repertoire draws on contemporary large-ensemble jazz with an emphasis on texture, atmosphere, and modern orchestration. 7pm Set 9pm Set LIVESTREAM TICKETS COMING SOON!
