@ Local filmmaker Jameson Quinn is returning to The Lindsay with two stellar shorts and a pulse-pounding television pilot. The Lindsay’s latest Emerging Filmmakers Showcase features three locally made projects created by Quinn’s production company, JMQ Pictures. We will screen Sandman (14 minutes), about a boxer making a comeback; Empty (15 minutes), a detective noir; and Cornered (18 minutes), a TV pilot following one DEA agent’s efforts to capture a drug ring and avenge his friend’s death. The JMQ Pictures Showcase will take place on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m. Quinn will lead an in-person Q&A immediately following the screening. Tickets are free, and RSVPs are recommended in advance via the below sign-up form due to space limitations. “We would love to see Western Pennsylvanians come out and see these films on the big screen,” says Quinn. “They’ll gain a more accurate understanding of why Pittsburgh is such a great contributor to the world of cinema.” Quinn spent his formative years in Brookline writing, playing ice hockey and competing as an amateur boxer. He is now living his dream as a professional actor and filmmaker. Last year, Quinn introduced himself to Lindsay audiences by showing the boxing drama Strange Angels. Cornered was inspired by classic action-thrillers like Die Hard and The Bourne Identity. “I wanted to create a series that moves quickly and embodies dramatic action while keeping viewers invested in its characters and their emotional space,” says Quinn. Sandman, Empty and Cornered were all filmed in the Pittsburgh area with local actors and crews. Quinn wrote and stars in all three films. He also directed Cornered and Empty. “I believe that Western Pennsylvanians should be excited to see Pittsburgh showcased and highlighted,” says Quinn. “It’s a great feeling to bring these films back home where it all began.” Emerging Filmmakers Showcase JMQ Pictures Showcase Reservation Sign Up X/Twitter This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
