Darkswoon is a melancholic dark alternative trio blending elements of darkwave, post-punk, dream pop, shoegaze, and electronic music into a haunting yet resonant sound. Originally the solo project of Jana Cushman, now completed with Rachel Ellis on synths and beats and Norah Lynn on bass, the band’s immersive discography, including Bind, Bloom//Decay, and the upcoming Antivenom, has earned critical acclaim and a devoted live following. Their richly layered compositions pair ethereal vocals, propulsive rhythms, and atmospheric textures, creating deeply emotional soundscapes that resonate with both listeners and critics while establishing Darkswoon as a unique voice in the contemporary dark music scene. Lauren Lakis makes songs that are steeped in darkness, but inside of them is a sense of hope. They are propelled by the possibility of emerging on the other side feeling less alone and fully transformed. On her debut album Deadlights, set for release on Riding Easy Records on May 8, 2026, she conjures a shifting reality—one defined by both distortion and clarity. Indebted to shoe gaze and ’90s alt rock, its 10 tracks are filled with ethereal vocals, melodic guitars, and a heavy low end. Cigarettes for Breakfast is a Philadelphia-based band known for their lush soundscapes and raw, emotive, fuzzed-out performances, capturing the essence of shoegaze and dream pop greats, such as My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive.
