Also known as The Blue Album, it was a double disc compilation of chart-topping songs and deep cuts from the Beatles, first released by Apple Corps in 1973 in the early years after the band's break up. As counterpart to a compilation from the years 1962-1966, (“The Red Album”) it was quickly recognizable for an iconic re-staging of a photograph catching the band looking down from a London balcony. A wide ranging collection of music from the band's ground-breaking studio years, The Blue Album includes a sprawling 28 songs clocking in at nearly 100 minutes in length.  With rarely-performed songs like “Hey Jude,” “Revolution,” and “All You Need is Love,” The Blue Album quickly took its place as the definitive introduction to the band for a new generation of listeners raised in the 1970s and 1980s. This will be the Shabby Road Orchestra’s first performance of The Blue Album, a show requiring an early start in order to get through this diverse body of music in one night!
