Start a NATURE JOURNAL in Pen & Watercolor with Gail Goodrich Harwood Botanical Artist & Instructor In this art mini workshop, you will: Begin creating a nature journal you can continue adding to – fall is the perfect time to create a sketchbook! Sketch subjects with a fine-point archival ink pen and add watercolor. Add inspirational quotes and/or personal reflections to your pages. All experience levels welcome – workshop size limited to 15 participants. Cost: $25 – Includes a sketchbook with quality watercolor paper and a Sakura Micron archival ink pen. Bring a pocket watercolor set – or use one of the instructor’s sets. Fall subjects will be provided, although you may also bring your own. Deadline for Sign-up: September 10 A portion of the workshop fee supports Quarry Gardens Gail Goodrich Harwood is a certified botanical artist, teaching and mentoring students in the Botanical Illustration certificate program at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. She serves as a member of the Directors’ League of the American Society of Botanical Artists and coordinates the Central Virginia Botanical Artists, an ASBA Artist Circle. She has exhibited in art shows across the Mid-Atlantic. Her work currently appears in the Colored Pencil Society of America’s “Explore This” juried online exhibition. Gail and her husband Ev reside in Glen Allen and are active members of the Council of volunteers at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Gail is a floral designer for VMFA’s Fine Arts and Flowers.
