Sam Gelband, Strawberry Milk, Granny Square

Sam Gelband is starting over while trying not to leave it all behind. His first self released album “That’s All” is far from his first go, but it is an arrival that’s been a long time coming. Gelband’s lyrical edge and classic melodic sensibilities are front and center on this focused and sparse songwriter album, and it shines in its simplicity. A recent collaborator with The Sons of Rainier, Bella White, Dean Johnson, and Chris Acker, Gelband emerges with his own true voice, one we won’t soon forget.We are Strawberry Milk, a band that trickled out of a pink cow born and raised in Bellingham, Washington. What started as a group of friends writing songs in their living rooms is now a group of friends playing shows in their living rooms. All seriousness aside, our sound is largely inspired by Wilco, Wednesday, and Neil Young—think soft rock meets a pedal steel twang, combining the fun, playful energy of rock with the genuine storytelling of folk music. Chocante milk is yummy, but Strawberry Milk is cool.
