About this event
One of 19 upcoming events at The Sheldon, and 1,734 across St. Louis.
Janet Evra, Artist-in-Residence at The Sheldon, is an international jazz singer-songwriter, vocalist, bassist, and bandleader. She has collaborated with jazz luminaries including Randy Brecker, Marcus Miller, Al Di Meola, Veronica Swift, Taylor Eigsti, and Wycliffe Gordon, among many others. For one special evening at The Sheldon, Evra expands that impressive roster to include Bria Skonberg - trumpeter, singer, and songwriter. The New York Times writes, “Ms. Skonberg has become the shining hope of hot jazz, on the strength of a clarion trumpet style indebted to Louis Armstrong, a smooth purr of a singing voice inspired by Anita O’Day, and the wholesome glow of youth. Hear Janet Evra and Bria Skonberg's new song, “Easy with You” Ahead of their December 4 performance at The Sheldon, St. Louis jazz vocalist and bassist Janet Evra and acclaimed Canadian jazz trumpeter and vocalist Bria Skonberg have released a new song together, “Easy with You.” The indie-jazz waltz duet showcases the musical chemistry between the two artists, with Janet and Bria each taking a vocal verse before Bria's trumpet solo floats over Janet's gentle bassline. The collaboration grew out of a friendship that brought the two musicians together in St. Louis. During a visit last spring, Janet and Bria enjoyed an afternoon walk through Forest Park before meeting up with Elizabeth Bougerol of The Hot Sardines, who were performing at The Sheldon that evening. Now, the two artists are bringing their collaboration to The Sheldon stage. Janet returns for her third annual Artist in Residence concert, welcoming Bria back after her previous appearance in The Sheldon's Rhythm & Jazz series. Audiences can look forward to hearing “Easy with You” performed live, along with more music from these two talented jazz artists. Listen to “Easy with You” below, then join Janet Evra and Bria Skonberg live at The Sheldon on Friday, December 4, 2026.
